Ben Shelton is an American professional tennis player who was born on October 9th, 2002 Atlanta, Georgia in the United States of America.

Shelton is the son of former professional tennis player and Florida Gators men’s tennis coach, Bryan Shelton, and Lisa Witsken Shelton. He shares the same parents with his younger sister, Emma Shelton.

Shelton preferred to play American football as a child instead of tennis. Despite the fact that both of his parents had ties to tennis, they didn’t push him to take up the game.

Shelton lost to Wu Yibing in the Challenger final at the Georgia Rome Challenger in July. He won a match against world No. 103 Tim van Rijthoven the next week at the Indy Challenger, which helped him get to the semifinals.

He entered the ATP Tour as a wildcard at the Atlanta Open, where he won his first match against Ramkumar Ramanathan. In his subsequent encounter, he was defeated in three sets by No. 2 seed John Isner. The Cincinnati Masters granted Shelton a wildcard berth.
