The B-side “Velocity Girl” ended up on NME’s C86 cassette compilation, a grouping of unsigned pop acts that shaped the UK’s indie pop scene in the middle of the 1980s.
The emerging acid house culture grew to dominate Britain’s underground music scene as the 1980s came to an end.
More Light, the new album of Primal Scream, was begun in January 2010 and released in May 2013.
A well-received album called Chaosmosis with songs like “100% or Nothing” and “Trippin’ on Your Love” was released in March 2016.
In July 2021, he and Jehnny Beth published their duet album Utopian Ashes under the joint name “Bobby Gillespie and Jehnny Beth”. Music critics gave Utopian Ashes “generally positive reviews” with a score of 80 out of 100.
To promote the singles “Chase it Down” and “Remember We Were Lovers,” two videos with the duo were filmed and posted on YouTube.
