David Tennant is a Scottish actor. He came into the limelight after playing his role in the BBC sci-fi series Doctor Who as the tenth incarnation of the Doctor. 

He wrote three books titled Doctor Who: The Inside Story, Elisabeth Sladen: The Autobiography, and Is There Life Outside The Box? An Actor Despairs.

David Tennant fwas born on 18 April 1971 to Essdale Helen McDonald (Mother) and Alexander “Sandy” McDonald. His father was a minister who served as the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland. 

His father died on 17 March 2016 in Erskine, Scotland at the age of 78. His mother passed away on 15 July 2007.

David Tennant’s real name is David John McDonald but he changed his name from McDonald to Tennant. He changed his name to Tennant in the 2000s because of being inspired by the name of Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys.
