He was born in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Midwood High School in 1989. In 1997 he received his bachelor’s degree from the Clark University of Atlanta. He only attended the fall semester, which allowed him to continue his career through the winter, spring, and summer.

Emmanuel Lewis is a Taekwondo practitioner whose height has changed only 15 cm since he appeared on Webster as a child, and he is relatively petite. He has no known condition to account for his size. He is also a Freemason. Lewis has won People’s Choice Awards for three times and Clio Awards twice.
