Together, they shared a sob named Ben Bradlee Jr., born on August 7, 1948. He worked as a managing editor at The Boston Globe for 25 years. Later, they divorced in 1956 after 14 years of marriage. Then from 1957 to 1975, he went to marry Antoinette Pinchot Pittman.  

Together, they had two children, a son Dominic Bradlee, and a daughter, Marin Bradlee. His third marriage was with The Washington Post reporter Sally Quinn in 1978. They welcomed one child, Quinn Bradlee in 1982.

At age of 14, he was diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome, also known as 22q11 in 1996.
