The TV personality was born on 20 April 1961 in Akron, Ohio. His parent’s names are Leon Harris Sr. and Lorrene Harris, and alongside him, he has three brothers, Marcus, Jerry, and J.J., who still reside in Akron, including and a sister, Kimberly, who lives in Houston.

Talking about his education, Leon went to Buchtel High School to complete graduation in 1979. Sometime later, he got National Merit Scholarship to Ohio University and got cum laude from Ohio in 1983, majoring in communications. In 1999, he received an honorary Doctorate from the University.
