Laura Marano is an American Singer and Actress. Laura Marano is famous for her role as  Ally Dawson in the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally. She was one of the original casts of Are you smarter than 5th Grader?.

Early Life

Laura Marano was born on the 29th of November 1995, in Los Angeles, California, USA. She is 26 years old now. Since her birthday month falls in May, her zodiac sign is Sagittarius. She is the second child of professor Damian Marano and former actress Ellen Marano. She has an older sister Vanessa Marano. Her father is Italian while her mother has ancestry in English and Irish. She also has a dog named Velvet.

Her mother owns the Agoura Children’s Theatre, where laura started acting. Laura has done several acts at the Agoura Children’s Theatre. The family is full of talented people as her sister Vanessa Marano is also an actress and singer. Laura and Vanessa both appeared in the Showtime series Dexter. Laura started acting at the age of 5 years old in the theatre. She has done several plays at the Agoura Children’s Theatre. Laura worked for the Stage Door Theatre. She also has done numerous commercials and played small roles in Ghost Whisperer, Medical Investigation, Huff, and Joan of Arcadia. Laura played the role of Ally Dawson in the Disney Channel series Austin & Ally.

Before her Disney Career, She first starred in a film called The Jacket as Keira Knightley with oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody produced by George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh. She has also starred in Judd Apatow’s film Superbad and the short film Goldfish in 2007. She also has done voice-over in animated movies like Finding Nemo, The X’s, Ni Hao, and Ice Age 2.

Laura has 4 solo songs and 1 duet song Turn it up with Ross Lynch for the Soundtrack of Austin & Ally. In 2016, Laura started her own radio show “For the Record with Laura Marano”. She also signed with Big Machine Records and released her debut single Boombox which currently has the highest views on her youtube channel. Boombox only accumulated 6 million views in its first week and ranked 27th on Billboard. In may 28,2017, Marano signed with WarnerBros Records. In 2018, Marano announced in her Q&A video posted on her Youtube that she would be releasing music independently.

Laura also starred in an Indie film called A Sort of Homecoming. In 2015, laura acted in Disney Channel Original Movie Bad Hair Day. Laura also starred in the Netflix original movie The Perfect Date in 2019.

Philanthropy

Lauren was named UNICEF’s Trick or Treat for UNICEF Ambassador which encouraged other children to raise money on Halloween to help other children around the globe in 2013. She was an ambassador for the Disney and Birds Eye vegetable campaign ‘Step up to the plate’  with the goal to encourage children in the US to eat healthy foods. She also hosted a fashion show for Childhelp during National Child Abuse Prevention Month which raised the fund for neglected and abused children.

Laura is very private regarding her relationship. She is single as of now. There’s not much information about her past relationship history. She was previously in a relationship with musician Thomas Macken. She started dating Thomas in 2018 and the couple also spent time together during the pandemic but broke up at some point in 2020. Thomas also helped her with her EP and one of the songs is dedicated to him. Laura’s song Run was about Thomas.
