Devin Haney took an unwarranted jab at boxer Ryan Garcia, out of nowhere. Previously, the former WBC interim lightweight had proclaimed that famed boxer Gervonta Davis needed him to make prized fights. Garcia had also made big claims that he could make bigger fights than Davis alone. Haney, in turn, took this opportunistic moment to slide in and impart on the scuffle.

The online head-on squabble took form when Garcia and Shakur Stevenson tweeted about the same. Speaking with Fight Hub TV, Haney hit back at Ryan Garcia‘s claim while considering fighting “Tank” Davis. While speaking to the reporter from Fight Hub, Haney said that a fight between him and Garcia would be huge. But alongside, he also mocked that Garcia’s current ticket sales were on the down-low. He said:

Me and Ryan is a huge fight. We see how his tickets are going, though. He said that he’s the reason why Tank sold all those pay-per-views, and he's probably not even selling right now. It just shows how big a fight me and Tank would be.

This isn’t the only secluded time that the names Garcia and Davis have clashed on pay-per-view buy-ins. In a later interview, Haney mentioned that Garcia is probably not “even selling right now”. He also commended the gravity of a prospect fight with the 30-0 Davis. Haney mentioned focusing solely on Regis Prograis, for now.

Haney made the move up to 140lbs for a bout with Prograis. Prograis is the WBC Super Lightweight champ, and Haney was the undisputed lightweight champ before the decision to step up. Haney retains the WBO, WBA, and IBF belts, and is the WBC interim champion after moving up. The two fight on Dec. 9, live on DAZN PPV.

Ryan Garcia faces Oscar Duarte in December

“King” Ryan Garcia, at 23-1-1, 19KOs, will face knockout powerhouse Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte of Parral, Mexico on Dec. 2 in a twelve-round bout presented by Golden Boy Promotions. The event takes place at the famous Toyota Center for international sporting events. Garcia has been reeling from a recent skid to Gervonta Davis.

After many people, including promoters like Oscar de la Hoya, claimed that Garcia was the future of boxing, he was heavily criticized for how he fought Davis. This time around, he claimed to be ready for the matchup. In the promotional build-up to the bout, he mentioned he was “coming back with a vengeance”.

The Mexican-American assured that he is constantly training to give his best for the upcoming fight.
