American professional stock car racing driver, Ross Lee Chastain was born on December 4th, 1992 in Alva, Florida in the United States of America.

Chastain was born to Ralph Chastain and Susan. He shares the same parents with his younger brother, Chad Chastain.

When Chastain was twelve years old, his interest in racing was sparked by his father’s pastime and the racing of other children his age.

At the age of twelve, he began racing at his local track, Punta Gorda Speedway in Punta Gorda, Florida, in both late model and Fastruck Series competitions.

Even those races, held at venues like Citrus County Speedway, Auburndale Speedway, and DeSoto Speedway, were held on a shoestring budget; this practice would continue throughout a large portion of Chastain’s career in NASCAR’s upper divisions.

In his short track career, Chastain won more than fifty feature races, including three of eight races in the 2011 World Series Of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway’s Limited Late Model division.

Chastain replaced Justin Marks in the No. 66 Turn One Racing truck in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series after Marks relocated to Charlotte in the middle of 2011.
