Edward Sheeran MBE (born 17 February 1991) is a singer-songwriter from England. He began writing songs at the age of eleven, after being born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk. Sheeran self-released the extended play No. 5 Collaborations Project in early 2011. The following year, he signed with Asylum Records.

Sheeran reflected on his bond with Edwards, saying, “I basically lived in his bedroom.” His mother mistook us for being in a relationship.

“In the morning, Jamal died. I arrived at his mother’s house around lunchtime. It’s Caribbean tradition to spend nine days and nine nights at the family house. They hold a great party on the ninth night.

“Grief snuffs out your youth. The funeral had around 30 people, but he knows about 10,000.”
