When the pastor announced the news to the public, he was joined by his four children named Priscilla Shirer, Anthony Evans Jr., Crystal Hurst, and Jonathan Evans. It was revealed that Dr. Tony Evans was engaged to Dr. Carla Crummie as the festivities for his 74th birthday got underway in Dallas.

In addition to asking for prayers during this “sensitive time,” he said:

As I come up to the fourth year of the loss of Lois, my wife of 49 and a half years, it is a tender time. There are reminders everywhere of her life and her influencer on me, my family and this ministry.

In his speech, he added:

We are a very close family and all that has happened in my life, family, church, Urban Alternative, books, tapes, everything has been defined by [Lois] so we’ve had over these four years the ups and downs and the roller coaster emotions, sometimes high, sometimes low, but it comes with it.

Who is Carla Crummie?

Dr. Carla Crummie is a well-known Christian counselor, author, and the Urban Alternative’s ambassador for kindness. She has been in the news because her engagement with Dr. Tony Evans, pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, has recently been announced.

She also has a sizable clientele as a John Maxwell certified life coach. She mostly focuses on Christian counseling, helping families come together, and assisting couples.

Dr. Carla Crummie was married to Dr. Robert W. Crummie before getting engaged to Evans. They lived happily till his terrible death in January 2020. During the most recent congregation, Evans disclosed that Robert tragically passed away on en route to Lois’ funeral.

On the other hand, before engaging with Carla, Evans was married to Lois Irene Cannings. However, Lois passed away on 30 December 2019 due to biliary cancer.
