Hasnat Ahmad Khan, FRCS, a British-Pakistani heart and lung surgeon. Khan was born on April 1st, 1958, into a Mohmand Pashtun family in the Pakistani city of Jhelum, which is located in the Punjab region He gained fame for his 1995–1997 love affair with Diana, Princess of Wales.

He is the oldest of four kids. Rashid Khan, his father, owned and operated a glass manufacturing and was a graduate of the London School of Economics. Imran Khan, a former Pakistani prime minister, is a distant relative of Hasnat Khan.

He was employed in Sydney, Australia, up until 1991, when he moved to London. From 1995 to 1996, he worked in the London Royal Brompton Hospital before starting at the London Chest Hospital. 

He left his position in November 2007 and took over as the director of a heart hospital in Malaysia. Khan has been a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at Basildon University Hospital since August 2013. Hasnat Khan had a 2 years relationship with Diana, Princess of Wales.

 In May 2006, Khan marriage Hadia Sher Ali, an Afghan royal descendant who was 28 years old, in Pakistan. Khan and Ali submitted a divorce request to the regional arbitration council of Islamabad in July 2008.
