Karol G parents-Colombian musician, Carolina Giraldo Navarro was born on February 14th, 1991 in Medellin, Antioquia in Colombia.

She is the daughter of Guillermo Giraldo, a musician, and Marta Navarro. She shares the same parents with her elder sisters; Verónica and Jessica.

She made an appearance on El Factor X at the age of 14. She signed her first record deal with Flamingo Records (Colombia) & Diamond Music (Puerto Rico) a few years after her appearance on the program, and she decided to go by the stage name “Karol G.” Shortly later, she shared the stage with J Balvin at a quinceanera.

Although Karol G has dabbled in a number of other genres, such as reggae and sertanejo, he is best known as a reggaeton and Latin trap performer.

She was nominated for numerous Lo Nuestro Awards and Billboard Latin Music Awards in addition to winning the Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2018.

When she was a teenager, Karol G began her career by participating in the Colombian version of The X Factor. In order to learn more about the music industry, she relocated to New York City in 2014 and joined Universal Music Latino.

The lead single off her 2017 debut album Unstoppable, “Ahora Me Llama,” a collaboration with Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny, became her breakout smash.

Her song “Secreto,” which she released before the end of 2018, became popular in Latin America since she and Anuel AA openly acknowledged their relationship in the music video.

Her first song video, “China,” which she co-wrote with Anuel AA, Daddy Yankee, Ozuna, and J Balvin, was published in July 2019 and has amassed over one billion views on YouTube.

She launched the album Ocean in May 2019, which marked a stylistic change from Unstoppable and incorporated a more laid-back mood in her work.

Her duet with Nicki Minaj, “Tusa,” was certified 28 Latin Platinum by the RIAA and charted internationally. It spent 25 weeks on the Billboard Top Latin Singles chart.

Karol G was nominated for four Latin Grammys in 2020. When she collaborated with Shakira on the top 10 song “TQG,” which reached the Billboard Hot 100, Karol G achieved her highest-charting single ever.

Karol G made history by becoming the first woman to ever have a Spanish-language album debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart with her fourth album, Maana Será Bonito (2023).
