Legacy Shave founder Mike Gutow appeared on Shark Tank season 14 episode 7 with their product. The founder brothers try to seek investment on Shark Tank from Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, or Robert Herjavec.

Legacy Shave was the last pitch on Shark Tank on  Friday.

Shark Mark Cuban gave a standing ovation to Mike’s presentation, while Kevin O’Leary was teary-eyed during the pitch, and Lori gave a deal to the Legacy Shave founder.

All the auditions were surprised and finally happy with Lori’s deal. They offer on the  Tank with an offer of $3,00,000 for a 10% equity, and they (Lori and Mike) went through a counteroffer Mike decided to stick with Lori’s initial offer, which was “$700K + a royalty of 3% of net sales in perpetuity for 95% of the company.”

Mike decided to hold on to the 5% of the business.

Legacy Shave is a founding company started in the year 2016 by Mike Gutow and his brother Dave when they were in college. Mike started Legacy Shave with his brother Dave in 2016 with deemed “The Ultimate Shaving Experience” by several people. 

Legacy Shave’s brush combines the old-world technology of a shaving brush with modern-day shaving cream. Users can apply their brushes to the face/body.

The company started with help from their dad, and the brothers produced a working prototype.

Their dad passed away due to cancer, and they found nearly a dozen boxes with as many as 3000 shave brush samples fully assembled in a basement.

The brothers re-designed the original primitive shave brush and turned it into a sleek version, and they have had their business for more than 20 years.

The brothers were awarded both design and utility patents after two years and their
product was featured in Sharper Image in 2017 and was also voted the top new product at the 2019 ECRM show in Florida.
