He currently plays for the Seattle Mariners in Major League Baseball (MLB). Throughout his career, Ford has also played for the New York Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Angels.

Ford attended Montgomery High School initially but later transferred to the Hun School of Princeton. He went on to play college baseball for the Princeton University Tigers from 2011 to 2013.

During his time at Princeton, Ford showcased his versatility as both a first baseman and a pitcher. In 2013, he achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first player in Ivy League history to be named both the Player and Pitcher of the Year. This recognition came after an impressive season where he excelled at the plate, batting .320, and displayed his pitching prowess with a remarkable 0.98 ERA and a perfect 6-0 record.

Following the 2012 MLB draft, Mike Ford went undrafted but signed with the New York Yankees as an undrafted free agent. After spending the entire 2020 season with the Yankees, Ford’s offensive performance declined, and he was eventually designated for assignment in June 2021.

He had brief stints with the Tampa Bay Rays and the Washington Nationals in 2021 before signing a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners in 2022. Ford was traded to the San Francisco Giants, then back to the Mariners, and later claimed by the Atlanta Braves.

After a strong performance with the Tacoma Rainiers, Seattle’s Triple-A affiliate, he exercised an opt-out clause in his contract and was subsequently added to the Mariners’ active roster on June 2, 2023.
